During my time at Directive, I recognized that the company was growing up and our identity needed to reflect our maturity while retaining our flexibility in order to adapt. This 4-month long project involved me reworking the entire user experience of our brand and our website.
What initially first started this project was a branding overhaul that I did for Directive Consulting. The existing website was first built in the early years of Directive. The design and development was handled by another agency that would bill us for every change we requested. After the rebranding project, Directive need a fresh start.
I looked at some of the biggest players in the industry. Some companies’ sites were more creative, while others were more focused on digital marketing. But none seemed to speak directly to the heart of the B2B market. That validated our decision to specialize in a niche.
Through careful interviewing of clients, staff, and our upper management (including working closely with our CEO), I was able to ensure the company’s needs and work with web developers to bring a brand new design, brand code, and UX to life.
Legacy code from the years of edits made the site builder slow and clunky. We cleaned all the dead links from the site. Important content was being hidden deep within the site. We sought to bring those up and front.
With every new edit, the development fees were increasing. As a Marketing Agency, we didnt need to run custom code. We sought to switch to a site builder platform that would let any colleague edit the website easily.
With a wide ranging portfolio, we wanted to showcase our successes and results to potential clients. Quickly providing them with small anecdotes of success.
After 6 different mockup concepts, We collected feedback from the stakeholders at every level. Eventually we made our way to a few final iterations that we thought would speak to our audience the best.
A new sharp & modern website to showcase our product offering and quickly see case studies of our primier clients built on WordPress with the flexibility to change on the fly without advanced development skills being necessary.
